Marc+Nora’s sunny and love-filled outdoor lakeside wedding was amazingly sweet. The two of them knew it was love at a 90’s party at the University of Florida… where all good romances naturally begin! 😉 They both have incredibly laid back personalities, but that don’t let that downplay their deep passion for one another. When it’s just the two of them, you can’t help but swoon a little at how cute they are together… and how much they just work.

They had an outdoor ceremony in Stone Mountain, so needless to say the lakeside backdrop with the mountain was pretty breath-taking. It was also a pretty significant spot to the two of them since it’s where they had their first date. They were surrounded by family and friends as they celebrated the beginning of their new lives together, and then danced the night away at the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Center.
They tried to incorporate as many DIY projects as they could to make it budget-friendly, and also as a tribute to Nora’s love for all things crafty. She even created all of the centerpieces and bouquets herself – whew! Talk about a super-bride! Nora has some French Creole mixed into their family history, so they incorporated a few nods with music and traditional dances. (Everyone was pretty into it… there are photos to prove it!)
They also added a photo booth to their reception, which was HILARIOUS. These were probably some of my favorite Photobooth pictures to date! I was literally lol’ing while editing. (And I might do it again right now just thinking about them.)
These two are such fun-loving and amazing people, you couldn’t help but be happy being around them on their wedding day… the lovey-doveyness was contagious!
It was truly an honor to be able to commemorate such a special season with these guys, and I’m so excited for the wild and adventurous road God has laid ahead for them!
Congratulations you little lovebirds! So happy for you!!:)

Benbino | S E N I O R | Atlanta, GA

You know what’s weird? Seeing a grown up ginger-man and flashing back to when he was a teeny little ginger-baby with the sweetest little grin, the biggest personality, and the tenderest little heart. Not much has changed, other than his height. And he’s a little better at soccer now. Oh, and he doesn’t injure himself nearly as much. Ben is my dearest little bro (in case you couldn’t tell), and while there’s a pretty big age gap between us (11 years!) he’s still one of my favorite people… and he just keeps getting cooler.

I’ll never forget this one particular day when we were sitting in a pew at church, and I was having one of those particularly angsty teenager days where you felt completely alone and like the whole world was out to get you (I can’t even remember what earth-shattering crisis was happening at the time, but I’m certain it was HUGE.) And as I was sitting there just mulling in my little cloud of self-pity, here comes little tiny Ben. He just scooted over really close, wrapped his arm around my arm and leaned up against me. For no reason at all. Totally out of nowhere. And I just completely melted. He probably has no idea what I’m talking about, but I think even as a kid he’s always been very aware of the people around him. And that to me is something amazingly sweet and rare.

I’m so thankful for the man that God is growing him into… and I am SO totally excited to see all of the adventures that await for him! You’re awesome. You’re doing great things, and you’re bound to do a few more. I love you brother! And congratulations on making it this far ya braniac!! WOOP!

Life is definitely better with you in it. Love you brother bear!

TJ+Christine | W E D D I N G | Summerour Studio

I am LONG overdue for some blog posting, so over the next few weeks I’ll be playing some major catch-up now that things are “slowing down” a bit! (Does that ever really happen? I hear people talking about this thing called “slowing down” but I’m not sure if it’s really a thing… hmm. 😉 )

One of the things I love about second shooting is the unexpected tidbits that you stumble upon throughout the day as the extra eyes. It’s a little more laid back than when you’re the lead photographer, and for me that gives me the extra second to breathe and really push myself creatively. Plus, I love getting to catch up with my other photog pals on the job – always a perk! I worked this wedding over the summer with the one and only Jess Fouts, and it was SUCH a blast! This was the first time I’ve worked at Summerour Studio too, and  now that I’ve experienced it firsthand I’m dying to go back! It seemed like there was some kind of gorgeousness waiting for us in every single nook and cranny… I couldn’t get enough.

Christine+TJ were pretty precious themselves! They had such a fun crew celebrating the day with them, from beginning to end. Their fun + poppy wedding colors fit their personalities so well, and were woven into so many details from the flowers to the table settings to the bridesmaids. They did a first sight before their ceremony, which was SO sweet – you can just see how much TJ adores her in every single photo! The ceremony was so refreshing, and such a great reminder of all of the loving support that comes not just on your wedding day but for all of the years following from the loved ones you surround yourself with. So good to remember in the beginning, middle, and end! Then everyone broke it down on the dancefloor and celebrated the night away with the Stephen Lee Band… which seriously might be one of my new favorite wedding bands!! They were doing all the things and everyone was feeling all the feelings. #weddingbandwinning

They ended the night with a whooooole lot of pom-poms. Because nothing says wedding magic like a POM explosion to see you out! Congratulations you two – so happy for you guys! Cheers to years and years of married bliss!

Until next time…

Baby Emerson | F A M I L Y | Atlanta, GA

Life never quite looks like whatever I envisioned it to be. In some ways it’s so much more chaotic, bumpy, and just generally messy that I thought… but in other ways it’s turned out to be so much richer, fuller, and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Parenthood is like that all rolled up into one. This one little tiny person can bring you so much joy and love you feel like your heart could explode, but then they start making all of their demands (BOOBS! PACI! BURP ME! DON’T LEAVE ME! OR DO ANYTHING ELSE IN GENERAL WITHOUT ME!) which brings you back to reality and your own weakness. It’s the most awe-inspiring and emotionally exhausting adventure all at the same time… and I see so much of myself in that tiny, needy little thing. I think about the Father’s love for me as His child, how patient and kind He is to me, the wisdom he has in the ways he teaches me to live, and also how he teaches so gently. I think about how many times I get it all wrong, even the simplest of things, but somehow He still doesn’t give up on me and manages to look on me with love. And while I know I’ll never be able to love perfectly like that, I hope my babies see that mirrored in our lives as we raise them.

I was thrilled to have the chance to spend the morning with these guys and finally meet sweet little Emerson – she was such a peach! While these three have had a bumpier start than most (to say in the least), they’ve blossomed into the sweetest little family and I couldn’t be happier for them. I know their story has touched a lot of folks, and I’m so thankful for all of the good that God is growing not only in but also from them. Congratulations Ryan+Alli… you officially make awesome babies! 😉

Baby Drew | N E W B O R N | Atlanta, GA

I love when I get to be a part of a growing family through all of the different seasons… it truly is such an honor to be invited into someone’s life like that. A quick little glimpse into a time that sneaks away ever so quietly… there’s nothing quite like it. Remember Baby Elliott? Turns out, she’s not such a baby anymore… AND she’s got company now! Baby Drew is now on the scene to wreak havoc make precious memories with this sweet little crew, and I have a feeling she’s going to fit in juuuuust fine.

Elliott was cracking me up – she busted out her “Frozen” camera and started working her own creative vision. What can I say? When the girl has a creative flow coming, it’s just best to move out of her way and let the magic happen! She’s a true artist at heart… 😉
