Here it is guys… Fall Mini-sessions! Only a few slots available, so jump on it while you can! We’ll have a purdy little spot for you right here in Historic College Park, so get your crew all gussied up and let’s make some memories!
When I first met Ann… we were in a tent in the blazing hot Georgia woods in the glorious land of Girl Scout Camp, maybe like 3rd or 4th grade (right?). Whodathunkit? But we actually didn’t put this together until awhile after we started talking wedding and shooting portrait sessions. Ann whipped up some photographic evidence of our summer together, and let me just tell you… we. looked. AWESOME. I just thought how crazy that was! What are the odds that just a handful of years later she’d find me online and I’d have the chance to photograph her wedding?! Man!
As if they couldn’t get any cooler (because girl scout camp scores you major cool points, right??) Matt is in the Navy and gets to live in submarines for weeks at a time, and all of his friends from the Navy got to wave swords around at the wedding! Ok, maybe they weren’t waving them, but there were definitely a lot of swords there. There might’ve even been some cake eaten off of one, but I can’t disclose that information here… Ann also told me before I met him that Matt kinda looks like Channing Tatum.
I can definitely see the confusion there.
These guys were not only super fun to work with, but SO sweet together… I’m kinda sad the partying and photo shoots are over! I know married life will be such an adventure with these two, y’all are going to have a blast! Congratulations Ann+Matt!

There’s this thing about family. They’re unlike any other people in the world, because you CAN’T GET RID OF THEM. And when they’re your own kids, you love them more than you ever thought you could… and then they drive you crazier than you ever imagined the very moment after you were all dovey-eyed with them. But you still love them… it’s a totally unique, beautiful kind of love.
The Bradley’s go to church with us, and I’ve loved getting to know Shatoyia and how she loves her family! She is such a great example of a godly mother, and I hope my kids are half as cool as her bunch when they get older. Watching these three little brothers together was totally heart-melting too. You can just tell they’re a non-stop party, nobody’s raining on their parade! We totally crashed the set-up for the Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park during our session, but hey. You do what you gotta do. I had SO much fun exploring and documenting this sweet little family (while Nate was here too!), so check it out! Bradley family… take it away!
Go show your family some love. Everyone needs a little more of it!
Until next time!
So this one time, we had a baby. Another baby. His name is Oliver Cozack Starr.
It’s been just over a week since he was born, and I’m already amazed at how much time is flying by! We did a video of Tacie when she was a newborn, and honestly it’s one of my favorite things we have. Pictures at this phase just couldn’t capture it all, and I’m SO glad we had it. I wanted to make sure we got another little vid with the new guy, just to remember his sweet little toes, his t-rex arms, his slow-motion dance moves, and (of course) his sweet little sleepy face. Here’s a more personal post about Baby Ollie’s big debut along with some of his newborn pictures (warning: these pictures will cause your grinch heart to grow three sizes guaranteed!).
Anywho, I’m gonna get back to snuggling. I’ll be out for a little while on maternity leave, but I’ll still be answering emails and scheduling future bookings. Be back in the saddle soon!
Just popping in with another sweet little wedding to cheer up your week – nothing like a good dose of loveydoveyness! This is another wedding I worked as a second shooter for with the notoriously fab Jess Fouts, and it was such a fun crew! It doesn’t always happen this way, but I find myself kind of liking the idea of walking into a venue blindly and creating something off the cuff… it can be really challenging at times and really give you a creative kick in the pants! It’s mega problem solving since there are so many different factors to consider, which I really think is like 90% of photography all together. This was a great place to practice this though, and I’m glad I had Jess there to do it with and be the fearless leader! Leigh + Brent were SO sweet, and totally all about each other. It was so cool to see their two families coming together and blend so naturally… they’ve got a really great thing going on. And they had a donut cake. So you KNOW they’re high in my book after that!
Alright, now enough of me chattering… Leigh+Brent, take it away!
